Summary: | A Decision Support Framework is presented which serves two purposes: first, to organize and integrate various decision aids according to their function, and secondly to provide the decision aid designer with a systematic context in which to develop decision aids as well as examine which aspects of the decision problem would most benefit from decision aiding. The main components of the framework are discussed in detail with Army intelligence decision making examples: (1) analysis of the decision requirements; (2) development of decision aids to provide the decision maker with information as well as tools for evaluating, weighting and integrating the information to make a decision; and (3) evaluation of the success of the decision aids in leading to a logical, rational decision. |
