Description
Summary:Off-site low pressure airblast measurements are required on almost every high-explosive simulation test. Existing analog equipment which has been used for many years to make these measurements possesses several drawbacks in terms of excessive weight and power requirements and relatively narrow dynamic range of the paper and ink strip chart recording method. By making minor modifications to off-the-shelf recorders and pressure transducers, a digital microbarograph system has been developed which exhibits significant advantages over existing analog equipment in terms of weight, power requirements and dynamic range. Field and laboratory testing of the digital system over the past year has proven it to be a reliable and versatile alternative to existing systems. Originator-supplied keywords: Digital recording, Microbarograph, Far-field airblast, Pressure transducers, and High-explosive testing.
