Summary: | Throughout the 1980s the Aircrew Training Research Division of the Human Resources Directorate, Armstrong Laboratory Sponsored various research and development (R and D) activities involving part-task training concepts. The R and D accomplished during this period was fueled by training device cost considerations, unit-level training needs, applications of new approaches in cognitive science, and the explosive development of the microprocessor. In total, seven part-task training devices were developed by this division. This report describes these devices and the research performed using them. In addition, the 'lessons learned' from research, as well as suggestions for future research in part-task training, are discussed. |
