Summary:Mobile reverse osmosis water purification units (ROWPUs) are used by the Army for production of potable water from saline, brackish, and freshwater sources. The reverse osmosis is a membrane process that requires a high pressure feed stream; therefore, a high pressure pump is a key component of the ROWPU. This report provides data collected from a unified testing program applicable to all high pressure pumping units that have potential use as ROWPU components. The testing program consists of three phases (initial inspection, start-up testing, and endurance testing). All pumping units evaluated during this testing were subjected to the three test phases.
