Summary: | The MERCURY-Ranger Test Bed integrates real-time weather information and meteorological models with a suite of physiologically-based thermal injury risk assessment models. It is a test-bed for command and control oriented modeling tools that are intended to help reduce the risk of heat and cold injury during Ranger training at Camp Rudder, Eglin AFB, Florida. The system has a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to simplify access to key functions and automatically archives all hourly weather information. This report provides specific instructions for using the various weather and predictive model functions incorporated in the latest version of MERCURY. It also describes network requirements and proper operating procedures for the Unix workstation computer that hosts the MERCURY software at Camp Rudder. |
