In murine knockout studies each gene deficiencies affects spermatogenesis at the same stage of differentiation. In addition numerous nuclear proteins have been shown to interact both with c-Abl and BRCA1. In fact a recent publication points to a direct interaction resulting an association that can be disrupted by ionizing radiation.
