Description
Summary:This Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) was prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA); the President's Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) regulations for implementing the procedural provisions of NEPA, 40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1500-1508; and the Environmental Impact Analysis Process, 32 CFR 989. The decision in this FONSI is based on informationn contained in the Environmental Assessment to Construct a Perimeter Fence at Georgetown Military Family Housing, Travis Air Force Base, California, which is hereby incorporated by reference. The purpose of the EA was to determine the extent of environmental impacts that might result from the proposed perimeter fence at Travis Air Force Base (Travis AFB) and evaluate whether these impacts, if any, would be significant. The proposed action is to construct a perimeter security fence and disconnect shared utilities as part of the required action to terminate the former Georgetown Military Family Housing (MFH) lease. The purpose of the Proposed Action is to meet the Base's need to secure the perimeter of Travis AFB before Georgetown MFH is returned to the Property Owner.
