Summary: | The long-term goal of the project is to understand the response to atmospheric events and dynamics of marginal seas ranging from shallow waters with a depth of 100 m to the continental slope with a depth of over 1000 m, in particular, in the South China Sea (SCS). The second long-term goal is to develop a global database of ocean internal waves observed primarily from spacecraft. This database will be publicly accessible and can be used for various purposes including understanding the statistical properties of internal waves and upper ocean dynamics in any ocean area of interest. |
