Summary: | Diesel fuel spray from a single hole injection nozzle was investigated under steady-state and atmospheric conditions to understand the characteristics of unsteady Diesel spray. Spray velocity and particle diameter were measured by a laser Doppler anemometer (LDA) and a phase Doppler anemometer (PDA) respectively. Distributions of mean velocity and fluctuation (turbulence) characteristics in the spray flow were analyzed and compared with gas jets and other experiments. (Author)
