Summary: | AbstractDespite recent advancements of endovascular technology and proven durability of open surgeries, extensive thoracoabdominal aortoiliac occlusive disease (AIOD) remains challenging to treat. This study describes a 58-year-old female with such pathology and multiple medical comorbidities who successfully underwent a novel intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)-guided combined repair with concurrent descending thoracic aorta to bilateral femoral artery bypass (DTFB) and thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR). This approach that combines DTFB with TEVAR demonstrates an example of an effective treatment alternative for future complex AIOD. |
