Summary: | Devgun ["International Journal of Information and Computation Technology," 3(7), 641-646, (2013)] and Sarkar et al. (2016) have discussed models those help in overcoming challenges while adopting technology with higher education. But these models need to be modified in the context of MOOCS. To overcome these challenges, we have developed an acceptance framework which would provide guidance to the organizations that want to venture into online education sphere. Based on literature review, secondary research of online education providers and a pilot survey to assess the readiness of Indian learners, a conceptual model was proposed. The model was then tested using PLS-SEM tool. This study establishes that the learner's skills, Usability, Availability and Affordability are the prime influencers of the Learner's Perception. The study also emphasizes the importance of reputation of educators associated with the offering and acknowledgement by stakeholders. The study highlights the important implications of information systems and technology in the field of education and the parameters organizations should consider for designing an open education channel and reach out to the Indian learners. |
