Description
Summary:This article describes the unique distance education consortium developed by the Colorado Community College and Occupational Education System to serve the 60,000 students of the 14 community colleges. The consortium provides centralized management of faculty and curriculum and decentralized management of student services. The Colorado Electronic Community College provides the centralized management of faculty and curriculum and the member colleges provide the student services to their students in the program. A few teams and committees have been created to facilitate the management of this program. These committees and teams allow all the member colleges to have a say in how things are to be run. Communication, quick response to policy issues, seamless student services, and staff who are cross-functional will be key to the continued success of this consortial program.
