Summary: | In the present work, genetic diversity in morphological characteristics offour cultivar of litchi i.e., Bedana, Bombay, and Gola growing under the agro-climatic conditions of Multan was studied. Various characteristics like tree height;spread, tree shape, foliage texture and colour, leaf length, width, shape andorientation, internodal distance, number of per leaf, number of leaves per flush, flush colour, panicle length, number of anthers and carpels per flower, filamentand size, fruit colour and size were taken into count and variation in thecharacteristics has been discussed. The cultivars differed in some of themorphological characteristics. The differences were probably due to their geneticmake up as well as due influence of climatic factors. |
