Description
Summary:In the present study, effects of Bifenthrin (pyrethroid insecticide) were evaluated on the common ground spider, Pardosa sumatrana (Thorell 1890). Spiders collected from the agricultural fields of District Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan were exposed topically to different concentrations of Bifenthrin for 48 hours. Males were found to be more susceptible compared to the females. LT 50 values against Bifenthrin at field rate concentration were 17.60 and 21.21 hours for males and females, respectively. Similarly LD 50 values for males and females were 93.33 and 113.00 nL a.i./ individual, respectively. When spiders were exposed to the insecticide treated soil high mortality was observed even after 15 days.
