Traditional honey hunting is an important element in the life of a number of groups including the Rajis in Nepal, and Kurumbas in south India. 4,6 In the Hindu Kush Himalayan region more than 50% of total honey yield is collected mainly by honey hunters from wild honey bees. 1 In Nepal, honey hunting is practised not only for economic gains but it also has spiritual, cultural and social significance. Nowadays, the spiritual, cultural and social values however are declining.
