Description
Summary:George Hickes died 1715. We've compared BL a2v, a3r, pp.14, 15 with CLU-C's in v.1 of 'A collection'. They match Apparently a reissue of his: 'A collection of sermons', London, printed for John Churchill, 1713, with a new collective titlepage in vol. 1. Each sermon has a separate titlepage; pagination and register are continuous in each volume. The sermon titlepages and the titlepage to Vol. 2 bear the John Churchill imprint. The titlepage to vol. 2 reads: 'A collection of sermons, formerly preach'd by the Reverend George Hickes'. Sermons 1, 2 and 10 are of the third edition; sermons 4, 6-9, second edition; sermon 5, fourth edition.
