Summary:The exhibition entitled 'South of the Border: Mexico in the American Imagination, 1914-1947' held at the Yale University Art Gallery in Nov. 1993 revolved around the depiction of Mexican by US artists and photographers. Mexico's culture including aspects of its revolution, mysticism and social policy is the subject of the artists' works. The works are those of Marsden Hartley, Milton Avery and Henrietta Shore, to mention a few.
