Summary: | The accuracy and application possibilities of progressive terrain laser scanning in cities are not investigated sufficiently. There is presented an exhaustive and accurate analysis of aerial laser scanning (LIDAR) for the first time executed in to Lithuanian 10 major cities--centres of the districts. A description of equipment, and technological features, as well as the aerial photographies are presented. For creation of the urban spatial model a progressive joint technology is used: laser scanning from the aerial with a GPS-IMU system and a digital aerial photography at a scale of 1:6000. The flight height is 800 m, the scanner ALTM 3100. The terrain laser scanning accuracy has been assessed on the basis of control and geodetic reference areas measurements data presented by Joint Stock Companies "Institute of Aerial Geodesy" and "InfoERA" as well as of foreign authors LIDAR accuracy investigations. The laser pulse points heights standard deviations from geodetic values are 0,05-0,11 m. The maximum absolute planimetric displacement is 0,25 m, i.e. 1/3200 of flight altitude. There is stated that, under the accuracy parameters, the laser scanning data integrated with orthophotographic base are suitable to create spatial 3D models for the urban surface, relief, buildings and other ground-based objects under large-scale topography and GIS needs. Naudotas skeneris ALTM 3100, skrydzio aukstis--800 m. Vietoves skenavimo lazeriu tikslumas vertintas remiantis kontroliniu geodeziniu tasku ir referenciniu plotu (lauku) matavimu (UAB Aerogeodezijos institutas, UAB InfoERA) bei uzsienio autoriu LIDAR tikslumo tyrimu duomenimis. Gautieji lazerio impulsu tasku auksciu standartiniu nuokrypiu nuo geodeziniu reiksmiu iverciai yra 0,05-0,11 m. Didziausias absoliutusis planimetrinis poslinkis--0,25 m, t. y. 1/3200 skrydzio aukscio.
