Summary:Eight promising genotypes of groundnut were evaluated for their stability at ten locations across Pakistan during 2004. Analysis of variance revealed highly significant genotype x locations (G x L) interaction. Four entries produced more dry pod yield compared to overall mean (2.329 t per ha) including ICGV-92040, BARD-479, Australian and 2KCGO17 with values of 2793, 2428, 2360 and 2.353 t per ha, respectively. Mingora, Swat was identified as best location with mean dry pod yield of 6.449 t per ha followed by Attock, Karak and Bahawalpur. The regression coefficient (b.) of the genotypes ranged from 0.58 to 1.32 and deviations from regression (S2d) ranged from 0.151 to 0.454. Genotype ICGV- 92040 was stable because it showed above average performance (2.793 t per ha), bi-value (1.09) nearer to unity, less value of deviation from regression (0.151) and high value of R2 (0.966), therefore, this genotype has wider adaptability and recommended for cultivation on diverse environments. BARD-479, 2KCGO17 and Australian were suitable for favourable environments and 02CGO05 for unfavourable environments.
