Description
Summary:An automated method for determining the contact area in the sclerometry method has been developed taking into account the scratch morphology features. The algorithm underlying the implemented method and the algorithm for calculating the volume of the residual groove and the material volume forced to the surface are described. The hardnesses according to the data of two techniques, i.e., the direct measurement of the contact area of the residual scratch and the calculation using a reference material, are compared.
