Summary:A novel triterpenoid saponin, jujuboside I ( 1 ), together with five known compounds, jujuboside A ( 2 ), jujuboside B ( 3 ), jujuboside C ( 4 ), betulin ( 5 ), and betulinic acid ( 6 ), were isolated from Semen Ziziphi Spinosae [the seeds of Ziziphus jujuba var. spinosa (Bunge) Hu ex. H. F. Chou]. The structure of 1 was elucidated by spectral methods (1D NMR, ESI-MS, HR-MS, and 2D NMR).
