Summary:This paper aims to understand the role of the regional urban system Ituiutaba through spatial interactions established by the presence health services and education. To prepare this article were carried out surveys and readings of bibliographic materials on the subject medium cities, the Brazilian urban system, health services and education and sociospatial formation of Ituiutaba. Beside these procedures were collected primary and secondary data about the services and private health and education of Ituiutaba. The theoretical research and analysis of data allowed us to analyze the unique role played by Ituiutaba on the regional urban network. At the same time, they made possible to understand the spatial interactions established by this city, in the contemporary context, beyond the regional geographic scale. Keywords: Ituiutaba (MG). Este trabalho tem como objetivo compreender o papel de Ituiutaba no sistema urbano regional por meio das interacoes espaciais estabelecidas pela presenca dos servicos de saude e educacao. Para a elaboracao deste artigo realizaram-se levantamentos e leituras de materiais bibliograficos sobre as tematicas cidades medias, sistema urbano brasileiro, servicos de saude e educacao e formacao socio-espacial de Ituiutaba. Alem desses procedimentos, efetuaram-se coletas de dados primarios e secundarios sobre os servicos publicos e particulares de saude e educacao de Ituiutaba. As pesquisas teoricas e as analises dos dados permitiram analisar o papel singular desempenhado por Ituiutaba na rede urbana regional. Ao mesmo tempo, possibilitaram compreender que as interacoes espaciais estabelecidas por essa cidade, no contexto contemporaneo, ultrapassam a escala geografica regional.
