Effect of Sol Formation Conditions on the Structure and Properties of Anhydride-Cured Epoxy-Siloxane Composites

We used the sol–gel method to obtain anhydride-cured epoxy-siloxane composites. We show that increasing the sol holding time and using a stoichiometric amount of water for hydrolysis of the ethoxysilanes results in an increase in the crosslink density of the epoxy-siloxane composites, and we observe...

Description
Summary:We used the sol–gel method to obtain anhydride-cured epoxy-siloxane composites. We show that increasing the sol holding time and using a stoichiometric amount of water for hydrolysis of the ethoxysilanes results in an increase in the crosslink density of the epoxy-siloxane composites, and we observe a relative increase in the glass transition temperature.
