Summary:The relative content of sulfur-containing compounds in samples of epiphytic lichens Hypogymnia physodes collected at recreation zones of Tver city with different levels of air pollution was determined using FTIR spectroscopy. The sulfur dioxide (SO 2 ) concentration was also measured at the same recreation zones using an IR gas analyzer. The measurements were compared by two methods. Maps of SO 2 air pollution in Tver city were constructed.
