Summary:The complexation of doxorubicin hydrochloride with the triterpene glycosides α-hederin [hederagenin 3- O -α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)- O -α-L-arabinopyranoside], hederasaponin C [hederagenin 3- O -α-Lrhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)- O -α-L-arabinopyranosyl-28- O -α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)- O -β-D-glucopyrano syl-(1→6)- O -β-D-glucopyranoside), and glycyram (monoammonium glycyrrhizate) in aqueous solutions at pH 7.2 was investigated using spectrophotometry. These glycosides formed 1:1 complexes with doxorubicin. The complex stability constants were determined.
