Summary: | The aim of this paper was to verify how the transformational leader's role might influence the reconstruction of shared meanings as regards strategic corporative changes considering a restructuring process of Business Units which have different and inter-related portfolios. The strategy for research has been characterized as a case study because it presents the singularity of a unique organization, as well as the use of a triangulation of different data sources. Such triangulation allowed not only for the definition of analysis categories supported by theoric development and by the questionnaire, but also for the confirmation of such categories along with data collecting, including 106 respondents and 20 managers (called "transformational leaders"). It was possible to conclude that even though there are structural problems, leaders are well accepted by employees and their role is highly significant on the change process and on the building of meanings, specially considering the interpretation of the directors' expectations and work conditions that are offered and perceived. O objetivo do presente artigo foi verificar de que maneira o papel do lider transformacional pode influenciar na reconstrucao de significados compartilhados, em face das mudancas corporativas estrategicas, diante de um processo de reestruturacao envolvendo Unidades de Negocios com portfolios diferentes, mas inter-relacionados, a luz da lideranca transformacional. A estrategia de pesquisa do presente trabalho caracteriza-se como um estudo de caso, por apresentar a singularidade de uma organizacao especifica, bem como a utilizacao de triangulacao de diferentes fontes de dados (Stake, 1995; Maxwell, 2005). Tal triangulacao permitiu nao somente a construcao de categorias de analises subsidiadas pelo desenvolvimento teorico e definicao do questionario, mas tambem a confirmacao de tais categorias consubstanciadas a medida que os dados foram coletados, incluindo 106 respondentes, alem de 20 gerentes, denominados "lideres transformacionais" no presente trabalho. Conclui-se que, mesmo diante de problemas estruturais, os lideres tem uma boa aceitacao por parte de seus funcionarios e que o papel do lider e bastante significativo no processo de mudanca e de reconstrucao de significados, especialmente a partir da interpretacao deles em relacao nao somente as expectativas da cupula administrativa, mas tambem as condicoes de tra |
