Description
Summary:In this paper a simple geomagnetic field compensation system for uniform magnetic field applications of low magnitude and frequency is presented. The compensation system is based on an array of Tri-axial Square Helmholtz (TSH) coils, an array of tri-axial Hall effect sensors and a microcontroller system in order to compensate the small variations of the ambient magnetic fields (magnitudes close to the geomagnetic field between 25 [micro]T and 65 [micro]T) on a volume of interest. The geomagnetic field experimentally obtained of 39.5 [micro]T was compensated, achieving a uniform magnetic field of approximately zero. Finally, the proposed system emerges as a simple alternative for control and compensation of magnetic fields in several applications.
