Description
Summary:The results of studies on obtaining refractory lightweight materials using as a filler chamotte obtained by using a concentrated radiant flux to fuse a mixture of kaolinite clay and alumina-containing production wastes are presented. The phase composition, microstructure, and physicomechanical characteristics of sintered samples were determined. It was found that the samples based on fused chamotte with 10 – 20% (by weight) aluminum-containing additive possess the optimal combination of properties (apparent density 1.14 – 1.3 g/cm 3 ) and strength in compression (8.6 – 17.1 MPa), which is due to a favorable combination of the phase composition and microstructure.
