Description
Summary:Youth entrepreneurship has been given some level of significance in numerous countries, both in developed and developing nations. However, the state of youth entrepreneurial participation in South Africa is still delicate and at the grassroots level. South African youths are now being stimulated to engage in entrepreneurial activities but challenges are still rampant. Nevertheless, there is a need to further create opportunities to allow youth participation in the country‘s economy. This study focused primarily on four critical factors. The objectives of this paper, therefore, are to determine the relationship between entrepreneurial training, access to finance, entrepreneurial capacity, the entrepreneurial atmosphere on youth entrepreneurship in the Gauteng province of South Africa. Sample data of 365 was collected from universities in the Gauteng province of South Africa. Four hypotheses have been deduced from the study. However, the results indicated that entrepreneurial training, access to finance, entrepreneurial capacity, and entrepreneurial atmosphere positively influences youth entrepreneurship in universities in a substantial way. This study contributed immensely to how youth entrepreneurship can be recognised and revamped. The youths should receive training from government and other non-governmental organisations, they should be given access to finance and entrepreneurial capacity should be increased. The atmosphere or environment should be altered to suit youth entrepreneurship to flourish. This study added to the scant literature on the topic and the model is unique and can be replicated or modified by other researchers.
