Effect of Modifying Additives of Molybdenum and Tungsten Compounds on the Catalytic Properties of MgO-Al.sub.2O.sub.3 in the Process of Gas-Phase Conversion of Ethanol Into 1-Butanol

The regulation of redox and acid-base properties of MgO-Al.sub.2O.sub.3 systems has been carried out during the synthesis by introducing bifunctional additives of molybdate and tungstate ions. Doping with Mo and W compounds leads to an increase in the activity of Mg-Al-oxide catalysts and the select...

Description
Summary:The regulation of redox and acid-base properties of MgO-Al.sub.2O.sub.3 systems has been carried out during the synthesis by introducing bifunctional additives of molybdate and tungstate ions. Doping with Mo and W compounds leads to an increase in the activity of Mg-Al-oxide catalysts and the selectivity of 1-butanol formation in the ethanol condensation process due to an increase in the concentration of the sites of ethanol dehydrogenation and acetaldehyde aldol condensation.
