Summary:This communication shares the experience of the restoring process of the so-called Solar da Marquesa (Marchioness'house). Belonging to the Municipal Secretary of Culture of Sao Paulo, this is one example of a restored based on projects drawn up by architects of the Department of Historic Heritage--DPH and constitute the archtectural collection of the Museum of the City of Sao Paulo--MCSP. Built in the 17th century, a two-story house made with different techniques that use clay as the base material, such as rammed earth, the hand-rammed earth, or the rammed earth with a structure of vegetal origin, this property is also in the nucleus of the first colonization on the Sao Paulo plateau. Given its interesting construction heiress of several interventions carried out over time, it was select as the study case. With the presentation of the building and the analysis of its restoration work, the aim therefore, is showing the development of the country's restoration culture.
