Summary:The phospholipase A2 (PLA2) and phospholipase C (PLC) enzyme activities on endomembranes of sand dollar eggs were studied. Observations revealed equal amounts of products and endomembrane-associated PLA2 and PLC activities in the eggs. However, these products and activities were differentially distributed among the endomembranes. This finding indicated that the enzymes have various roles in controlling calcium signaling activity and pathway found in the endomembranes.
