Summary: | Mechanical modeling of the electric motor's output shaft load is crucial to selection of the right motor. Output shaft loads can be modeled based on the reflected moment of inertia and load torque, which can be lowered using speed reducers with higher gear ratios. Load torque is calculated by taking into consideration the frictional force between the belt and pulley. On the other hand, rotary motion can be converted to linear loads using a conveyor belt, a rack and pinion or leadscrews. |
