description Successful adoption of e-business technologies requires a coherent business level strategy and active participation from senior-level managers across its supply-chain, including operations function of a firm. In this paper, we delineate an e-business framework that helps operations managers understand the impact of information and communication technologies (ICT). The framework suggests that ICT enablement has made mass customization a viable business strategy. There is strong evidence that e-business technologies aid execution of a consistent operations strategy by enabling operations decisions related to supply chain networks and lean manufacturing measured in terms of dependability, efficiency, flexibility and quality.
