Summary: | Decision-making is an inherent daily activity among school principals. However, research shows that they have difficulty making decisions. Our research aims to understand the decision-making process involving complex decisions in the management of French-language schools in Ontario. The theory of decision-making of Simon (1960) and the model of educational leadership in minority language settings of Lapointe (2002) provide a frame of reference. Our qualitative research is based on interviews with three categories of education participants. The results reveal, among other things, that the accountability framework and work in Professional Learning Community in Ontario schools have a great influence on the decision-making process among school principals. |
