Summary:The popular proverb "Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose" ("The more things change, the more they remain the same) is attributed to French journalist and writer Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr. Although it is used in a pessimistic sense, we could push it towards a different and positive understanding where the integrity of those 'things' are not jeopardized by the possible changes affecting them.
