Description
Summary:This research aimed to compare methods of selecting Coffea canephora clones, considering the genotypes x years interaction, based on data of processed coffee yield obtained from 2000 to 2004 and 2007 to 2011. The significant clones x seasons (CS) interaction, indicates that the genotypes showed no consistent performance over the years. The LIN & BINNS (1988) and ANNICCHIARICO (1992) methods showed similar results indicating that one method may be used to replace the other. The EBERHART & RUSSEL (1966) identified some of the specific adaptability clones. The MHPRVG and centroid methods allowed to select clones of higher adaptability and stability. The plant selection based on the distribution of coffee productivity over time allowed the selection of superior clones without accentuate biannuality.
