Description
Summary:The variation of the storage energy in the biomass and in the air of the canopy can be estimated by measuring biomass and air temperature and biomass distribution being a significant component of energy balance. Nevertheless, accurate estimates of this component of energy balance are difficult to obtain and usually neglected in the calculations, especially in analysis of long periods. To understand the energy balance in the forest, this study estimated the energy stored in biomass using micrometeorological data in a forest monodominant Vochysia divergens Pohl in Pantanal in 2007. The energy stored in the biomass and in the air of the canopy (S) was higher in rainy season than in dry season, however, the difference between maximum and minimum values was higher during the dry season. The values of S in V. divergens forest in Pantanal in 2007 were similar to storage energy in the other tropical forests.
