Summary:The health of indigenous peoples in Brazil is provided through a subsystem within the Unified Health System (SUS) and the Ministry of Health. However, due to the paradigm of recognition and the analytical guidelines of the counter-hegemonic multiculturalism, the right to health must be granted in an intercultural way. This article, therefore, examines the difficulties of interaction between institutional and intercultural aspects.
