Summary: | Mini implants have become an essential part of an orthodontist's armamentarium. There are many studies regarding the surface characteristics of the implants at microscopic level using expensive equipments such as stereomicroscope and scanning electron microscope. The present paper describes a technique to create a simplified and cost-effective technique to evaluate the surface morphology of mini implants used for anchorage purpose during the course of orthodontic treatment. The objective lens of a microscope and smartphone were used in this study to take images of mini implants which help in evaluating their surface characteristics. |
