Summary: | Point-of-care testing is becoming a crucial component of the healthcare delivery both in and out of clinical settings. Minute Clinics, Urgent Care or Rapid care centers are now a common site in many pharmacies and shopping malls. Online and mobile diagnostic applications are allowing the patient/consumer to take their health into their own hands. Presenter will examine point of care testing; current state of affairs, how it's being used in the minute clinics, in pharmacies, and by the consumer. In addition, discussion will cover limitations of current point-of-care tests, devices and barriers to implementations for wider utilization. Presentation will also address technological advances and future of the field in general. |
