Description
Summary:Increasingly patients are engaging with their healthcare, often encouraged by their healthcare providers and governments, as an approach to managing health resource utilization, intimate to such access are results of laboratory medicine investigations; while having access to results satisfies engagement, comprehension of the significance of the results in their personal context is challenging and the evidence indicates that patients have poor understanding of their results; even when explained they mis-recall the significance and risk associated with them, this undermines the expected benefit of access and positive engagement.
