Summary:Objective : To test the prevention effect of barley in triton X-100-induced hyperlipidemia in rats Methodology: Rats were grouped as control group fed normal chow diets, and experimental group served normal chow along with barley for 15 days. After 15-days, rats are made to fast overnight and a single dose of intraperitoneal triton x-100(100mg/kg/body weight) was given to both the groups. Blood was withdrawn intra-orbit ally within 24 hours and serum sample was collected for the assessment of lipid profile.
