Summary: | The current study focuses on exploring the traditional system of medicine in the field of pharmaceutics to achieve the combined effect of flax seed oil (F1) and tamarind seed oil (F2) in the form of liposomal preparation as skin-protective activity. Liposomes of (F1) and (F2) were developed by using a rotary vacuum evaporator and were assessed for microscopic examination, pH determination, in vitro drug release study, rheological study, drug entrapment efficiency, storage stability. Formulated liposomes were done by using digicam. Later on the liposomal cream was prepared by mixing the two formulations (F1) and (F2). The cream was assessed for organoleptic properties, microscopy, pH, and a viscosity test. The cream was also evaluated through
in vivo
study by using female Swiss mice for skin compliance studies and skin-protective evaluation. The formulated liposomes were spherical, but F1 liposomes were denser and more tactile than F2 and the F2 liposomal formulation had more vesicles than F1. SEM and FTIR data revealed the size and shape of the liposomes and the FTIR peak matched the pure drug, which shows that it has retained its pharmacological properties. The topical skin-protective cream was formulated and was successfully visualized under a projection microscope, which revealed that spherical droplet vacuoles were present with a soft texture and a creamy whitish color. The skin-protective potential and skin compliance studies revealed that the formulated cream prevented the erythema significantly (*
