Description
Summary:One of the main problems in medical practice is the lack of patient adherence to treatment, which is often attributed to the bitterness or sourness of medicines causing discomfort and an aversion during administration, especially in children. Therefore, masking an unpleasant taste is one of the goals of pharmaceutical development. Currently, there are various approaches to improving the taste of oral dosage forms containing bitter or excessively sour pharmaceutical substances. This review covers some of these approaches and their advantages and disadvantages and provides relevant examples of the possible use of each of them.
