Description
Summary:Some transformations of women's futsal have occurred over the years, including the issue of gender prejudice in the practice of the sport. The objective of the study was to analyze the perception of university athletes on gender issues in women's futsal. To this end, a Field Research was carried out, of an exploratory nature and with a qualitative approach. The locus is represented by the Federal University of Northern Tocantins (UFNT), TocantinopolisTO campus. A total of five university athletes from the Bachelor's degree in Physical Education participated in the research. The results addressed a set of motivations and incentives (family and institutional), as well as a spectrum of prejudices that university women had (and have) to face in order to continue practicing a historically masculine sport. It is concluded that women must continue to fight for the occupation of these and other spaces, as occurs with the aforementioned university athletes, since a woman's place is wherever she wants.
