Description
Summary:A Geodetic Network is defined as a set of points materialized on the ground, and positioned in such a way as to have three-dimensional coordinates with high precision. The final stage of implementing the Geodetic Network is the execution of internal and external reliability measures, which represent extremely valuable tools in the management and analysis of the quality of these networks, as well as estimating the smallest part of the error present in the observation that can be identified with a certain probability, also evaluates the impact of undetectable errors in the point coordinates. Traditionally, the management and quality analysis of a geodetic network has been described by coordinate precision measurements, which are obtained with the quantities of the covariance matrix of the estimated coordinates. However, the quantities contained in this matrix do not allow the detection of gross errors in the observations and the estimation of the effects of these errors on the estimated coordinates. In this way, the management of the geodetic network, carried out through reliability measures, performs the task of detecting such errors at a level of confidence (1-[alpha]) and test power (1-[beta]), as well as estimating their influence on the coordinates from matrices originating from the Network Adjustment by MMQ. The purpose of this research was to apply these quality management and analysis procedures to the UESC Three-Dimensional Geodetic Network, the results of which were promising, as they detected inconsistencies in the horizontal component of the network, which were not highlighted in other statistical procedures.
