Summary:The present study seeks to accomplish a systematic review about the Burnout Syndrome in higher education institutions, taking into account the last ten years and utilizing as a base repository the system of ANPAD (brazilian association of graduate school and scientific research in administration). For the selection of articles were defined the "Burnout" constructor and the inclusion and exclusion criteria. In this way, ten articles were selected based on the definitions presented. After selecting the articles, they were organized into tables for analysis, based on the relationship between the constructor, inclusion and exclusion criteria, keywords, title and theme, in order to evaluate the level of aggregation. The objectives were also analyzed, as well as the methodology, the research subject, the nature of the institution and the concepts about the dimensions of Burnout. As a result, it was observed that the objectives of the study were achieved.
