The continuous search to reduce operational costs, as well as the increase of the productivity and the reduction of internal problems, has been the aim of the companies to still inserted in a hard and competitive market. For this, internal changes are parts of the strategies to achieve these objectives. The present work aims to implement a new layout with optimization of the productive space in the pre-assembly of serial line in a furniture industry. The method used to this work was de search-action, that made it possible through a detailed analysis and permitted a new layout implementation, compatible with de manufacturing process of the company. As results of this work, it was obtained process clarity, space optimization, reduction of movements and materials transports, reduction of stock in process, facility in the internal logistics flows due to well dimensioned areas, better visibility of the sector, organization and cleaning, more efficient productive control and wastes reduction.
