A case of Mayaro virus infection imported from French Guiana

Highlights • A case of imported Mayaro virus infection in metropolitan France is described. • This is the first case in a European region where Aedes albopictus is established. • A new specific RT-PCR for the diagnosis of Mayaro virus infection was developed.
